After this 3-hour intro workshop you will:

Understand

Our emotions live in our bodies just as much as they live in our minds. During this intro workshop you will understand better why stress, depression, or anxiety affect your sleep, cause headaches and other physical symptoms.

Practice

You will learn simple exercises to help you get out of your head and feel your body better. There are four foundations of the method: consciouc breathing, grounding, emotional expression and connection and we will practice the basic exercises in all of them.

This is not a fitness workout - the practice was designed in the 1950s by psychiatrist and psychotherapist Alexander Lowen to help his patients. It can be done in individual therapy and in group workshops for people who are generally healthy but need to manage their stress, tension, and mood better.

Regulate

One of the main goals of somatic exercises is to help you regulate your emotions and feel better, calmer, and more energized. If you start to practice the exercises from the workshop regularly, you will be able to improve your mood and wellbeing.

Your host:

Anka Grzywacz

Therapist in training (Bioenergetic Analysis) at the Süddeutsche Gesellschaft für Bioenergetische Analyse, psychological workshops facilitator

Bioenergetic analysis is a form of body-oriented therapy and exercise method. It has its origins in the classic psychoanalysis and was developed by psychiatrist and therapist Alexander Lowen in the 1950s.

Note:

These workshops are not suitable for people who are very sensitive to noises and screaming (as people sometimes express their emotions with their voice). If you're undergoing treatment with antipsychotic medication or have had psychotic episodes, this is also not for you. Other contraindications include pregnancy and epilepsy. If you have serious medical conditions, get in touch to make sure this is right for you.
